What to look for in a vintage Chanel
Even stitch count across the quilt, a serial sticker or chip consistent with the era, hardware that matches the production year, and interior stamping that lines up with the serial. Lambskin shows wear faster than caviar — a light patina is normal on 1990s pieces and part of the appeal.
Why buy pre-loved Chanel now
Boutique prices on the Classic Flap have risen every year since 2019, and many quilted styles are effectively discontinued. A well-kept vintage piece is typically both less expensive and better made than a comparable new bag.
